The Museum Island Berlin needs your support!
The architectural ensemble, under UNESCO protection as a World Cultural Heritage Site, has been undergoing renovation since 1999 as part of the Museum Island Master Plan. The treasures of the cultures of the world held on the Museum Island are utterly unique in the world and represent 6000 years of the history of humankind. Begun in 1830 as a site of humanistic education and completed in 1930, the Museum Island Berlin bears the scars of the Second World War even to this day. The buildings are currently being restored with state funds.

Support the reconstruction of the Berlin City Palace!
A cultural centre called the Humboldt Forum, dedicated to non-European cultures is due to be erected on the site of the old palace (that was demolished in 1950), and the former East German Palace of the Republic (that subsequently replaced it and was demolished in 2006-2008). The reconstruction of the former palace's Baroque façades has been proposed for three of the outward-facing sides of the new building, as well as for the inner courtyard. To realize this goal, some 80 million euros need to be raised through private initiatives and donors. The Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage cannot accept any donations of this kind directly, and donors are kindly asked to get in touch with such institutions as the Förderverein Berliner Schloss e.V., set up specifically for this purpose.
