Records of the museums and collections beginning with the reconstruction phase of the Berlin museums. As a result of the division of Germany and the city of Berlin, two seperate museum quarters developed in the city: the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (SMB) on the Museum Island in East-Berlin, and, in the West of the city, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SMPK).
