Wishes come true! Winners announced for Make a Wish/WÜNSCH DIR WAS! the second ideas competition for young people
For a second year running, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums in Berlin) announced their "Wünsch Dir Was!" ("Make a Wish!") ideas contest for young people in Autumn 2012. On 7 December 2012, the panel of eight judges, consisting of both museum professionals and young people themselves, chose Emily Liebegott-Jones (16), Helena Kühnemann (16), Paula Reiz (16), Anna-Luisa Scholze (16) and Lea Marie Lembke (16) as the winners of the contest. Their idea "Nachts im Museum" ("Night at the Museum") will be rewarded by being implemented at Dahlem Museums.
A "Utopia Prize" was not awarded this year, as the judges felt that all submitted ideas would have been feasible.
From 28 November until 6 December 2012, members of the public could vote for their favourite ideas on the contest's short list, via the "Wünsch Dir Was!" Facebook page. The project "Diversity Bird. Eine Brücke zu uns" ("Diversity Bird. A bridge to us.") by Johanna Tannen (16) received 310 votes through Facebook "likes" and was declared the winner of the Audience Award.
