Family workshop
Materials that are old, used and discarded don't have much of a chance with us these days. But in this workshop you'll learn to create something new from old, unwanted material. Two artists will give you tips and show you a few tricks of the trade on how to turn old into new. And by doing so, we'll be taking the African artist, El Anatsui's lead, who weaves the most sumptuous hanging sculptures from bottle tops and labels.
Please collect everyday materials as material for the workshop. Weather permitting, the workshop will be held outdoors - please bring appropriate clothing, sun protection and a packed lunch.
Led by: Mansour Ciss Kanakassy (artist) and Julia Devies (artist)
Please book at least 10 working days in advance.
